Our History
The Glen Eira McKinnon Bowls Club traces its roots to 1950 and is the result of a proud merger between three local clubs: McKinnon, Carnegie, and City of St Kilda. Each brought a rich legacy. McKinnon was a strong early competitor, Carnegie a local mainstay, and St Kilda a powerhouse in the 1980s with state and national representatives. As memberships shifted and facilities aged, the clubs united. St Kilda and Carnegie merged in 1998, followed by McKinnon in 2002.
Together they formed a vibrant new club with over 300 members, multiple greens, and a strong presence in both men’s and women’s pennant competitions.
